Hello,

I have to say I love shopping at the NY location but this experience with an expensive, important holiday gift has been very difficult. The website instructions for the card in the gift are unclear, the shipping tracking has been terrible and, while out of your hands, the package was attempted at a time when the place was closed and can now only be rescheduled for next week.
I requested no bitters and am guessing from other reviews that they will be included.
Super disappointed in the client services, especially for this time of year and amount of money I have spent at The Meadow, here and in NY.
I also wrote a letter to customer service a few days ago and no response.

Hi Rachel, we are so sorry to hear your gift took longer than expected to be delivered to its recipient. We shipped your order via UPS priority on December 16th from Portland, OR, which should have arrived in more than enough time in our experience. Unfortuneately we have no control over UPS' handling of packages after this point. Our tracking does show that delivery was attempted on December 23rd which was within our guaranteed delivery window. As you noted, open hours of the receiver are outside of our control, as is shipping tracking which is through the carrier (UPS in this case.)

We pay close attention to order notes, and if you requested no bitters, they should not have been included. Please let us know if this was not the case once package is received!

We understand that this was a frustrating experience and sincerely hope your gift is received with delight upon delivery. We hope to continue to welcome you into our New York shop and that any future online orders reach their destinations safe and sound.

No personalization

The box I sent didn’t include the note I wrote. I’d also requested no bitters, to only include the chocolate and salts, and it arrived with bitters included. The person I gifted it to also said the chocolate was a bit melted. I’ve been ordering Meadow boxes for a few years always with good results but this one was quite disappointing.

Perfect for A Young Foodie

Gift box was well received

I ordered a surprise gift box for my friend, giving just a few high level ideas of what he liked. What he received was a lovely box filled with a large variety of items I certainly wouldn’t have found on my own but he was quite happy with. Would order again.

Mystery Box - A great staff gift!

I ordered four of these for staff gifts. The shipping was free. The website was easy to use and easy to indicate the shipping address vs. the billing address. The note I wrote on the website was handwritten on a note and placed on the box! A very warm touch. These were ordered and delivered in a timely manner and I was given notice when they were shipped and delivered. An excellent shopping experience for gift giving. My staff loved them!

What a joy to stop in on a lark and accidentally find perfect Valentine’s Day chocolates for my sweet hubby (and several friends, too!) Our Meadow salesperson was so helpful and kind and knowledgeable, and placed each gift in lovely gift bags with bright red-is-for-Valentines tissue paper. We shall return ASAP (we live an hour’s drive away), and make playing in the Meadow a new part of our Sunday in Portland ritual! Blessings and Thanks!

Yep, it’s official, all of the salts that come from The Meadow are fabulous! Go ahead and toss that “table” salt people and use a genuine salt of the earth to season your cooking creations! I dare you!
