Bitterman's x Barnacle Foods Gomasio with Kelp, Black Sesame, Ginger and Jalapeño

Our spin on a classic with Barnacle's Bullwhip Kelp Flakes, black sesame, ginger, and jalapeño! While classic Japanese sesame-salt gets its savory je ne sais quoi from toasted sesame seeds (and ours does indeed have black sesame seeds in it!), this one comes from wild bullwhip kelp, hand-harvested along the Juneau coastline and blended into a briny, umami-rich seasoning salt. One shake and you get the same salty crunch we all love from gomasio, plus a wave of ocean minerality from Barnacle's Bullwhip Kelp that goes on e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g: avocado toast, pan-seared scallops, ripe melons, mangoes or peaches, soft cheeses like goat or moz, grilled soy flank steak, shortbread cookies!

Ingredients: Sea salt, Barnacle Bullwhip Kelp, black sesame seeds, jalapeño powder, ginger powder.

Net weight: 2oz / 56g

About Barnacle Foods

Barnacle Foods was founded by Matt and Lia, both born and raised in Juneau, Alaska, whose shared love of the region's edible wonders led them to fill their cupboards with mason jars of preserved coastal foods. Inspired by recipes passed down for generations by Alaska's coastal communities, they set out to learn, share, and honor the traditions of their home. Their signature ingredient, bullwhip kelp, is hand-harvested straight from the Alaskan coastline and prized for its deep, savory umami.

Barnacle is a steward of the sea, committed to practices that keep the ocean and coastal ecosystems healthy. Every Barnacle product is made in Alaska by their small, close-knit team, supporting the community that sustains them (you know we love that!). Like the barnacle itself, the company is rooted in the rugged Alaskan coastline, bringing the flavors and stories of the coast from their kitchen to yours.
