Lovely salt. Delicious on steamed veggies. The color is also gorgeous (not that it makes it taste better...but I just love the shade). One of my favorite salts I've received over the years
I have bought this salt multiple times now and I’m pretty sure it’s one of, if not the best salt I have ever tasted. It has been fantastic on every piece of meat I have ever put it on. Vegetables the same. Haven’t tried it on sweets yet and I’m don’t think it will go well with a cookie or something like that. Now for the elephant in the room, this salt is extremely expensive! As of the time of this post it’s $98/lbs. In my opinion I think that’s way too much. I only buy it when it’s on sale and I still think that’s a bit much. If you can afford it I highly recommend it. Some of the cheaper salts will get you fairly close results to this.
This salt is perfect for just about everything. It's that magic ingredient I throw in with Italian recipes, steak, certain veggies, etc. People will often tell me they just can't get things to take the same. It's my go to secret ingredient.
So, the NY Times had a recipe for braised short ribs, with a twist. The recipe called for vermouth and white wine instead of the more traditional red wine... says right there: "Finish with some flaky sea salt" Ah yes... Cyprus Flake for the win... My dinner guests stunned into silence as we watched the entire platter disappear with nothing more than the smacking of lips... My non-salt aficionado guests even commented: "What the heck was THAT?!?!" - converts I tell ya...
Thank you for leaving such a glowing review of our Cyprus Silver Flake Sea Salt. That NY Times braised short rib recipe sounds insane, I am going to look it up now! And we are so happy you have converted your non-salt aficionado guests into fans. Thank you again for sharing!!
The sparkle of the Yuzu is a very interesting companion to some very good chocolate - a bit of tang to set off the smooth sweet.
