We’ve temporarily closed our retail shops in Portland and New York due to COVID-19. Safeguarding the health of our elderly, our disadvantaged, and our medical professionals is more than a courtesy, it is the linchpin of our social contract. When we put others ahead of ourselves, we build a better world.
That, my dear friends and neighbors and makers and customers and colleagues and employees, is the entire reason why we created The Meadow in
the first place.

This time will be incredibly difficult for many. As for us: I have temporarily laid off a bad-ass team of people who are truly like family to me. The only solace for me personally is my confidence that they will be back.
Since 2006 you, our customer, have helped us to provide our employees a true living wage, health insurance, 401k, vacation pay, sick pay, payday salts and chocolate bars, fun travel and professional development. In turn, we tirelessly and passionately tell the stories of 100s of small artisan makers. The Meadow donates to dozens of nonprofits and schools, and pays taxes and fees at city, county, state, and federal levels.
That’s what small businesses do. Please take a moment to reflect on the countless ways in which the little businesses in your life make our cities and towns the places we love.

My son and his girlfriend were in Portland visiting in January and stopped by your store. They purchased a few items and brought me a gift bag. I have to say one of the most favorite things in the bag was Bitterman Black Truffle Sea Salt!!! I have since used it all up and am ordering more and also trying some others as well. I have done a little reading on your website and find the information very interesting and I’m going to definitely explore the world of salt more! Thanks for your hard work and dedication.
