I ordered a mystery box to share with my partner on our recent kinda vacation... I love how it was wrapped simply with brown paper and tied with twine...

*A Pacific Northwest Classic is back! Re-stocked*
A pebble textured Pacific sea salt that takes up intense smoke flavors from slow smoking over red alder in a tradition carried on from the Salish Tribe, who inhabited a large swath of the country west of Washington's Cascade mountains.
This is one of the more aggressive smoked salts, yet produces an amazingly pleasant fragrance when ground over salads, be they lettuces, kelp, or fruit with nuts. Left unground, it is rich and solid enough to marry with beef, game, poultry, and fish. Red Alder Smoked salt also lends itself to pastas or other dishes with cream sauces.
Try sprinkling generously on:
Ingredients: Sea salt, smoke
Net weight: 2oz / 58g
Available in Small Jars only, while supplies last.
Made in the Pacific Northwest!
I just received it, so hard to give honest review. smells great. i have used this product in the past , the smoky flavor did not dissipate after a year living on the shelf - Impressive! Hence, I’m returning for more.
Everything I ordered looks great, and after stocking stuffers are opened, I’m sure we will decide they taste great! Thanks for good service and fast shipping!
Thank you so much for your review! We look forward to hearing how you like the salts!
Tried this on fish, deviled eggs and potato dish! Love the smoky flavor! Adds some pizazz to my food without being overbearing!
I had tried a smoked salt before but that was smoked with a different word (maybe hickory? ). The flavor and aroma of this is very intense and I would say not in a good way.
Not a bad product by any means but I'm going to struggle to find uses for this one. It did help out the chili I made last week though, so 3 stars!
Hello Christopher, thank you for your kind and thoughtful review. Some ideas for Red Alder include sprinkling it on popcorn, using it to crust a fillet of salmon or pork shoulder, and, like you mentioned, adding it to chili. For a more traditional smoky flavor, we recommend trying our Maine Apple Smoked salt!
