A couple weeks ago, I was delighted to be invited to a Himalayan Salt Block Cooking Class at The Meadow, an artisan salt shop on Mississippi Avenue. I’ve been wanting to check out The Meadow for quite some time as my husband and I fancy ourselves foodies and I was glad to finally have the opportunity to do so.
The Meadow is five years old and was started as a flower and salt shop by Mark Bitterman. Shortly after opening, he added wine and chocolate to their offerings. It’s hard not to be charmed by the shop (or by the entire wall of fancy chocolate bars)

Love to use saffron with fish dishes. This was a perfect find salt and saffron. I will return for more.
This is so wonderful on plain popcorn…yakes me to italy with minimal calories, but full flavor…lick out the bowl delish!
I loved the carefully packaged order. It came with a hand written note and you can tell how much they care about details and quality of their products. I will be purchasing more gifts from them for sure
This salt is one of the most glorious salty flavors I've ever experienced. Yes, I add it to this dish and that ... and sometimes I just take a taste of it, as is, to savor.
We love this basic salt that is not necessarily basic. We use it daily. It is a staple in our kitchen.
