It tastes like chocolate! I thought it was a bit bitter, but I am also partial too much sweeter/milkier chocolate, like the Dolfin. It had a very nice after taste and didn't leave my mouth dry or coated in film. I didn't get any mushroom/cheese but I'm also not used to high end chocolate so idk.
I wanted to like this chocolate, but its pungent mushroom and Swiss cheese overtones overwhelmed its too delicate infusion of cocoa, leaving me to wonder if it was spoiled. I think quite highly of the Meadow and the chocolates it provides, so I doubt that the latter was the problem. Rather, I think this bar, although creamy and without any sharp tang, just had a very unusual flavor profile that I found unappealing.
Hello Laura, thank you for your review of this product! You hit the nail on the head with the flavor profile - that is indeed how it is intended to taste. Have you tried the Amedei Toscano Brown? Or perhaps the Fruition Brown Butter Milk Chocolate?!
