Today, salt's fortunes have shifted yet again. Connoisseurs claim additives give table salt a bitter, chemical flavor. So they are seeking out regional, hand-harvested specialty salts that come in a kaleidoscope of shapes and colors. The retail and restaurant worlds have taken notice....Salt-centric boutique the Meadow in Portland, Oregon, has 85 to 90 different salts at any given time, according to co-owner and self-described "selmelier" Mark Bitterman.
I was getting near the end of my favorite salt and I hate driving into, through, or around the new, nearly destroyed, Portland OR! Ordering online with shipment directly to my house, while a bit expensive, was well worth it! Thank you for making it easy!
I use this wonderful chili lime salt to make simple things super e.g. avocado on toast, taco salad, cheese quesadillas, tacos, tomatoes.... it zests up food items deliciously!
Yep, no surprises, it’s perfect! I’ve been adding this to my weekly soup recipes and happily sprinkling it on most everything else I’ve been cooking up! 😋
Simply put…It’s great! I need more greens, so why not my salt too?! I let a little of it dry out and added it to my salt grinder. Tastes wonderful and everyone could use more green in their life! ;)
