Our daughter asked me to order a Mystery Box fior her dad for Fathers Day. As always he loves from The Meadow. In his words: “The bitters selection is fantastic. I really like the Portland Bitters project as well as the Bitter Housewife.” He also loved the chocolate cigar,a different flavor than last year’s, and the Woodblock Chocolate, and little chocolates from Venchi. He is also a big fan of the Bitterman’s blended salts.

My Dad loved the box, even the truffle popcorn was a hit. I ended up getting one gifted to me and I still haven’t tried everything. The Chocolate and the Cheese and Chile Salts are awesome!

Ordered the mystery box for my husband for Father’s Day. Great selection of things and all with close consideration of the things I mentioned that he likes. Beautiful gift that is fun for all since the contents are a surprise. Would highly recommend!

I ordered the mystery box for Mother’s Day and it was absolutely perfect. When I decided to get one for Father’s Day, it was ok. The items included were a very small milk chocolate bar, 2 individually wrapped caramels, and 2 orange candies, and steak seasoning which smelled delicious. These were great options. Other items included were coffee, 2 of the exact same bitters plus a third of the same flavor, just a different brand, the chocolate cigar, and some more dark chocolate. I specifically included in the description he’s not a coffee drinker and only enjoys milk chocolate and caramels. I was hoping they’d include a Compartes bar of some kind, maybe the scotch caramels (I did write he enjoys these). The packaging also had everything in one bundle at the bottom of the box with stuffing on top, whereas with the Mother’s Dat one it was definitely placed in a very nice arrangement to see when you first opened it. The box was more money than the Mother’s Day and yet all the items (minus the bag of coffee) were so much smaller and less satisfying, Finally, this was a present for my stepdad so I made sure that tell them to include his name instead of “Dad”. Instead it was just a note saying to “enjoy your mystery box from the Meadow”, not from me. It was just a little disappointing bc I buy nearly all his bday and Christmas presents from here since they love the products so much. This honestly felt like someone had started down the right road with picking the items, then someone else who didn’t care took over and finished it. That’s just the sense I got. I’ll still love this business, as do they, and I will continue to buy from and support them. I just may have to rethink the Father’s Day gift next year.
