ABOCFA (which stands for Aponoapono Biakoye Organic Cocoa Farmer Association) is an organic and Fair Trade certified cooperative that is known for producing the highest quality and most transparently traded cocoa in the region. These farmers are paid 43% more than local market rates, and audited regularly to ensure high ethical practices are maintained on the farms, as well as complete traceability for their cacao beans.

Founded by Jeff Steinburg with the intention of building transparent and fair supply chains for cocoa farmers in Uganda, Latitude Trading company is a centrally located fermentorium which collects fresh cocoa beans from over 1002 farming partners. Their attention to quality has allowed them to produce some of the highest quality beans in all of Uganda. 

Like most all chocolate bars we carry, your purchase of this bar has a positive impact on cacao farmers and the planet. As a social enterprise, Moka Origins is out to craft amazing products as well as make a positive impact for small holder farmers. They do this by ethically sourcing coffee and cacao, offering training programs on our Cameroon farm, and planting a tree for every product sold. Lovingly crafted by hand, small-batch chocolate is Moka's passion. They carefully roast, winnow, and refine cacao direct from source.
