Grenada Chocolate is a tree-to-bar chocolate co-op founded in 1999 by Mott Green and based in Grenada, West Indies. Mott Green and friend Doug Brown studied chocolate making in San Francisco and then restored few vintage European chocolate making machines in Eugene, Oregon. The machines got then shipped to Grenada, and Mott moved there to live and make chocolate. Grenada was among the first pioneers of organic cacao farming, their facilities are entirely powered by solar panels and their chocolate bars are shipped on sail boats to leave zero carbon footprints in both the making and the transportation.
